My name is Kieran Jones and I have recently finished my first month at Clarke Energy Ltd, having been offered a position on the Undergraduate Engineer Scheme.
I am a student at Manchester metropolitan University studying BSc Design Engineering. During my first month at Clarke I was fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to spend time in each department discovering all about the CHP (combined heat and power) industry and how Clarke Energy is a leading business within this field. Having had very little exposure to CHP during my first 2 years at university, I have found this first month invaluable in developing a sound understanding of what CHP is and the complex installation package Clarke are available to offer. As part of my final year at University I will be required to design a product and provide a feasibility report to justify my design. Due to complexity and robust design of the Jenbacher engine, I have already began to see a number of opportunities surrounding designing a product for the workshop, which will in turn help towards a sound feasibility report due to solving a problem.
From the Clarke Energy website, it is clear to see that it is a company who greatly value its employees and clients, however, only when you work here do you really start to realise just how friendly a workforce it has, made up of highly intelligent and original people. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first month here and I look forward to returning to university to share with others my experience, before returning to Clarke to complete the duration of my Graduate scheme.
